FREE Admission, FREE parking, FREE tours. It doesn’t get better than this! The Minneapolis Institute of Arts is ranked among the top 10 art museums in the United States. The museum houses over 10,000 works of art from over 5,000 years of history. While you might feel skittish taking your youngsters to an art museum, the institute has a great family room for nursing babies and letting toddlers explore eye-level art work and soft sculptures. Snacks are even allowed! The museum hosts special Family Days on ten Sundays during the year. These events feature music and dance performances, artist demonstrations, gallery activities, and hands-on art activities for kids and adults of all ages. Check the web for upcoming events. Note: Special exhibits occasionally require an admission fee.
