The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is located about 4 miles west of Chanhassen on State Hwy. 5, just one quarter-mile west of the intersection of State Hwy. 5 and State Hwy. 41.

The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum features more than 1,000 acres of magnificent gardens, model landscapes, and natural areas-from woodlands and wetlands to prairie-with extensive collections of northern-hardy plants. Tour the Arboretum on 12.5 miles of garden paths and hiking trails. Bikes and strollers are allowed. It’s a great place to explore and pack a picnic.

Weekend Family Fun

Saturdays and Sundays, 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. (year-round)
Thursday evenings, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. (holiday season and summer only)

Drop in year-round for free, fun, hands-on family activities designed for your family to do together at your own pace. Celebrate the changing seasons with a different activity each month such as tasting maple syrup, planting a mini-garden, cooking a fresh treat from the garden, glimpsing the inside of a flower through a microscope, decorating pumpkins, and discovering the secrets of fall color. Enjoy the fascinating world of plants and how they affect our daily lives.

Peapod Preschool Program

Pea Pods is and adult/child class geared to awaken a child’s interest in nature as you explore plants and the natural world together. With a new theme each week, you can move at your child’s pace to visit the stations created especially for the curious, young learner. Stations include story/music time, planting, art, sensory, science discovery, outdoor or greenhouse adventure and snack..

Pea Pods registration is by seasonal series of 10 weekly sessions. Choose Fall, Winter/Spring or Summer or savor this special time together through the whole cycle of seasons at the Arboretum.
