New Season…New Museums!
This is SO cool! The FREE Museum Adventure Pass is in its third season! This pass can be checked out at your local MELSA library and will admit 2- 4 people or children to the participating museum of your choice for FREE! There are NEW museums for the 2008-2009 year. Here are the details:
Passes are available on a first come, first serve basis and can not be reserved. If available, the pass can be checked out up to 2 times per month and is valid for one week. When you check out a pass, you will need to let the librarian know which museum you plan to attend. He/she will print you out your free entrance pass.
Passes are good for general admission and may not include special events. You are eligible for many special deals with your pass, such as 2 for 1 meal deals, free ride tickets at Como Zoo, significant discounts on family memberships etc, so check out the website for complete details.
Participating museums that admit 4 include: The Bell Museum of Natural History, Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Minnesota Museum of American Art and the Weisman Art Museum.
Participating museums that admit 2 include: the American Swedish Institute,The Bakken Museum, The Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary, the Firefighters Hall & Museum, Minnesota Streetcar Museum, Minnesota Transportation Museum, Hennepin History Museum, Historic Fort Snelling, The Landing (formerly Murphy’s Landing), Minnesota Landscape Arboretum,Minnesota History Center, Minnesota Zoo,, Walker Art Center,The Museum of Russian Art, The Raptor Center, TRACES Museum,Twin City Model Railroad Museum, TRACES Museum, and The Works: A Technology Discovery center.
