Recipe for Homemade Granola
I love this homemade granola. It’s great with milk or yogurt and fills you up! I add a variety of dried fruit to the mix after the granola has been baked and cooled so the fruit doesn’t dry out. I like to add about a cup of raisins or Craisens, but other chopped fruit is also good such as apricots or dried apple bits.
Yields about 8 cups
Ingredients:
4 cups old fashioned oats
¾ cup raw almond slivers
½ cup sunflower seeds
½ -3/4 cup coconut
¼ wheat germ
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup honey
? cup oil
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons water
1 cup of fruit of choice
Preheat to oven to 350 degrees. Grease a large, rimmed cookie sheet or baking pan. Stir together all of the dry ingredients (except fruit) and stir well. Add all of the wet ingredients and stir until well combined. Spread the mixture out. Bake until golden brown about 35-45 minutes stirring every 10 minutes. Remove from oven and cool in pan. Add fruit, stir and keep in an airtight container.
