The Red Balloon Bookshop is a wonderful, independently owned bookstore for children (and adults). They host many family-friendly events and author visits. Don’t miss their wonderful, weekly storytimes for young children. They are a real treat. A few tips…get there early, leave infant seats and strollers in the car and be ready to giggle and laugh.
Baby StoryTime is every Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. with energetic librarian, Sara Waters. Your baby will enjoy stories, rhymes, songs, puppetry, and more. Sara is very engaging and designs her storytime to enhance literacy skills in children during their early years.
Toddler StoryTime is every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. and is hosted by Kim Faurot. Kim creates her storytime to appeal especially to children ages 2 and 3. Your child will enjoy songs, stories, and other engaging and interactive experiences for toddlers.
Preschool StoryTime is every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and is hosted by Willi Brennaman. Her many years as a Red Balloon employee as well as a librarian combine with her natural exuberance to enliven her storytime with energy and activities that appeal to preschoolers.
The Red Balloon warns that you might want to wait until the afternoon on Tuesdays before coming to The Red Balloon to shop, as the story times are very popular - and full of little ones! Check the website for occasional weekend storytimes, as well.
